Thank you for visiting this homepage. This Department started as a neurosurgical research group in The Department of Second Surgery at Toho University in April 1959. In April 1981, the research group was promoted to the Department of Neurosurgery. The first professor was Dr. Hideo Terao, who developed the first linac stereotactic radiosurgery in Japan. The second professor was Dr. Iekado Shibata, who studied gliosis, cerebral blood flow, and three-dimensional fusion images. The third professor, Dr. Yoshikatsu Seiki, studied chemotherapy for malignant brain tumors and traumatic brain injury. He also performed numerical cerebral aneurysmal neck clippings and skull base surgeries. Our department has a history of more than 60 years. As a hospital that provides advanced medical care, it is currently energetically treating difficult surgical cases. We also believe that it is our responsibility to reduce complications as much as possible. We are always thinking about what the patient needs.
