The Surgery of Gastroenterology and Hepatorology Center covers wide spectrum of diseases in digestive tracts ranging from esophagus to anus in close cooperation with the internal medicine. Furthermore, we take advantage of our expertise and specialists provide treatments in our three sections by specialty, which are Gastroesophageal surgery (Chief: Hideaki Shimada), Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Surgery (Chief: Yuichiro Otsuka) and Coloproctology surgery (Chief: Kimihiko Funahashi). With regard to cancer treatments in particular, we provide not only surgical treatments but also pharmacotherapy with anticancer drug and/or radiotherapy. We have had a good outcome even for the lesion which was judged that surgery alone is not enough to cure it.
