Our emergency medical care center in Toho University Omori Medical Center obtained authorization in 1977, and has long been serving as an emergency medical care center in Japan. We provide medical care as a tertiary emergency medical facility and annually accept 1100 cases mainly from Ota and Shinagawa Ward, so to speak, we are a last resort in the emergency medical care. Our emergency physicians and intensivists who are in charge of the management of patients’ general condition provide medical care in cooperation with specialists in pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and neurology. Therefore, we are able to save lives from all sorts of severe cases. As a disaster base hospital, we are always preparing to provide medical care in the event of disaster as well.
