We, the Nutrition Therapy Center has the nutrition support team (NST) and the dysphagia control team. It is not until basic nutritional status is maintained through multidisciplinary collaboration that disease treatment can be successful. The teams are composed of doctors, dentists, registered dietitians, nurses, pharmacists, clinical laboratory technicians, speech therapists, dental hygienists, and others. 20 years have passed since the NST’s establishment, and it has grown into one of the leading teams in Japan. Our NST also provides guidance to people in other hospitals. The dysphagia team mainly targets patients admitted to our hospital and plans rehabilitation and functional recovery that bridges the training diet to regular diet.
